About the event
It’s no secret that rabbits are special! They differ physically, physiologically and psychologically from other companion pet species. So, how do we work with these differences to improve their visit experience and overall case outcomes? We must recognize that they are both fragile and flighty and learn to manage these qualities with low stress approaches, handling techniques and processes. What I have found to be the greatest tool in providing a better experience for my rabbit patients is the ability to identify specific personality traits and honor those traits throughout the entire visit process. In this presentation, I will introduce personality traits according the Five Element Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). You will learn to recognize these traits and classify them into their respective Elements. I will provide tips according to what works best for each elemental personality, with the overall goal of reducing stress and improving outcomes during rabbit visits. As a bonus, we will look at how Five Element classification can help to predict and prevent common rabbit health problems. Join us for this fun, feel-good rabbit event and you’ll come away with practical knowledge that can be applied every day out in the real world of exotic pet medicine.
